Day 2 or later...

She invited him in. After spending much (though not all) of the day with him, he supposes it just seemed natural to her to do so. For the moment, she's busied herself with another task and he's once again wandering the place, feeling the textures of the chairs, tracing his fingers along the stitching.

Since that first day, things have gone easier. No screaming over things he can't change. No disappearances on her part either. Comparatively, things are easy. He thought the inner world gave him too much time, but he sees now, there's a stark difference in having time when there are things one can actually do in it.

When not at her side, he's gone about trying to investigate what he can. He doesn't get much in the way of escapes, but there's certainly no shortage of experience. She, too, seems to keep plenty busy without him, as evidenced by little things here and there.

Like a picture on the table. He walks up slow to it, eyes narrowing. He snatches it up, gives it a glance over, and then lifts it up for her to see as he asks, "Hey, Mom! What's this supposed to be?"
